Pastor Judah Smith's Visit to The City Church DC
This weekend was awesome! My family and I had a relaxing Saturday and a busy and fulfilling Sunday at our church, The City Church DC.
I've been attending The City Church in Washington DC for the last 7 years and I've witnessed a lot of growth, spiritually and physically. I was here when we were meeting at the AU Greenberg Theatre, watched as God supplied the finances for purchasing the building its now in, and watched people volunteer their time and sweat to restore this 87 year old establishment. I've even had the privilege of having a small part in the restoration.
There's been a lot of growth in my life as well since attending The City Church DC. To name a few...I've made lifelong friends here, I met my husband here, got married, and dedicated my daughter in this very building. It's been a wonderful 7 years to say the least!
This past weekend, Pastor Judah Smith from The City Church in Kirkland, Washington visited The City Church in Washington DC for the first time. His father, Dr. Wendell Smith, lead pastor (at the time) of The City Church in Kirkland, Washington, along with Pastor Ken Wilde from Capital Christian Center in Boise, Idaho, planted this church in 2006.
Pastors Michael and Heather Giroux became the first pastors of The City Church DC in October of 2006. They had just planted a church in Newport News, Virginia but felt God calling them to Washington DC. They commuted back and forth from Newport News to Washington DC for 18 months before moving to the Northern Virginia area. They are such great examples of love, faith, character, patience...the list can go on and on. We truly have the BEST pastor's in the world!!!

Here are a few pictures capturing the daytime services.
